THE HISTORY OF THE YAMAHA TRACER 7/7GT :

In 2016, the tuning-fork brand unveiled the Tracer 700, a "Touring" version of the iconic Yamaha MT-07 roadster.
protective windscreen, raised handlebar… enough to win over both new riders and motorcyclists looking for a lighter, simpler bike with almost spartan electronics faithful to the pure essence of riding.

As the little sister of the Tracer 900, this new bike, powered by the crossplane twin, was an instant hit. It marked the beginning of a successful lineage.

Four years later, in 2020, came the facelift: the Tracer 7 was introduced with a modernized design, LED headlights, and a TFT display. Modern standards were all there! The success was immediate, and the bike quickly became one of the best-selling models in France.

Fast-forward five years, and here we are in 2025: the battle of the “mini-adventure bikes” is in full swing. On one side, Japanese manufacturers enter the segment; on the other, Chinese brands flood the market with unbeatable prices. To stay ahead, the Tracer 7 had to evolve  seriously evolve.

In July 2025, Yamaha revealed a new generation of the Tracer 7, boasting a brand-new design and, most importantly, a new chassis derived from the 2025 MT-07. More rigid, fitted with an inverted fork and forged aluminum wheels inherited from the MT-09/Tracer 9, the bike now offers higher-end finishes. The GT version, even better equipped (tall screen, comfort seat, side cases…), completes the metamorphosis. Success is already underway.
