THE HISTORY OF THE BMW R 1300 RT :
It was in the 1970s that BMW launched the RT range, with the ambition to offer riders a touring motorcycle that is both comfortable, reliable, and suited for long distances.
In 1995, the R 1100 RT, the first motorcycle in this category, achieved great success, followed by the R 1150 RT in 2001 and the R 1200 RT in 2005. These last two models offered a powerful and modern motorcycle.
A few years later, in 2019, BMW unveiled the R 1250 RT. This model established itself as a benchmark in touring motorcycles thanks to its balance of power and comfort. It introduced ShiftCam technology to meet the needs of riders.
In 2025, BMW presented the R 1300 RT. Completely redesigned, this motorcycle gains in power, lightness, and maneuverability. Equipped with a brand-new 145-horsepower engine—the most powerful ever installed on an RT—as well as a compact chassis for even smoother handling.
But that’s not all. The R 1300 RT is also recognized for its advanced technology. The installation of the TFT screen, integrated GPS navigation, ABS... BMW has thought of every detail to offer you absolute comfort and an optimal riding experience, even on long journeys.
